FLAG DAY... # 23 - DENALANE.BLOGSPOT.COM

THIS BLOG IS BEST VIEWED ON A FULL-SIZED MONITOR, NOT,  A CELLPHONE

This was Flag Day, and the 250th birthday of our ragtag Continental Army that repulsed English rule and began America as a revolutionary new free nation...

Things have been pretty quiet around PP, isn't that the way it is supposed to be ?

Late Addendum:  next week will be my unasked for sharing of my treatise on RV/Boat A/C-Heat Forced air Systems... an older article I wrote on "Bug/Rodent infestation and your Duct system" for Nomadicista Australia, with our heavy mouse population, you may simply want to avoid next weeks edition.

FEELING FLUSHED !- # 22 - DENALANE.BLOGSPOT.COM

THIS BLOG IS BEST VIEWED ON A FULL-SIZED MONITOR, NOT,  A CELLPHONE

That above comment looms very-very large this weekend... I only have two laptop viewers of this site, obviously there is total lack of a cell phone offering the reader comprehension...  although here were 27 openings of the February 10th (#12) blog page, yet, still, many saw "all new" information about saving your septic system how tos in a recent text ?? so, here is a reprint:

February 10, 2025 reprint: "In preparation for (looking at) adding in the additional greywater load of laundry/shower services to the office/tool room, and the bacteria-killing Phosphate load, we took a look around at our septage vaults and clean-outs ... "not" impressive .... so, I will offer a comment on toilet paper.

The absolute biggest disaster to a community of septic system users like us, is a system failure ... once the little microbial coliform guys are dead, suffocated, or over fed, we may not be able to recover the system within our economic ability.

Without insulting anyone's worldliness or knowledge about of RV/tiny house/boat living ... anything going into the grey or black water system that is not from a body function needs to "self"-destruct via bio-degrade.   I recall the California campground sign "if you cannot put it in your mouth, don't put it in the toilet"

From the "Alternative Living 101" class we all learned that "ONLY" single-ply bathroom tissue certified as "septic-safe", and NOT advertised as "ultra-soft" or "extra-absorbent" belongs in the toilet, and less is better.   Paper towels, wipes of any type, toilet bowl chemicals and cleaners, bleach or pail water, food scraps, anti-bacterial anything, hair dye, paint, medications, vacuum cleaner or ash tray remnants, and plastic anything ...  does not belong in the toilet.. but, you "Knew" that. "

A memory addendum: at Marmo's RV somewhere in Calif I photographed a sign that said " If you cannot, or did not, put it in your mouth, don't put it in the toilet".

D-Day came and went on the 6th ...unnoticed,

Other than brushing my teeth in the yard,  I  have "No comment" on the week, it was sunny and breezy, check your sewer hoses and connections, the four deer are (have) broken my fittings and punctured the hose ...

JUNE SPRUNG ! - # 21 - DENALANE.BLOGSPOT.COM

THIS BLOG IS BEST VIEWED ON A FULL-SIZED MONITOR, NOT,  A CELLPHONE

June ... our Northern Hemisphere start of summer, while in the Southern (down-under) Hemisphere, it is the start of winter.

The 10-lined June bugs, butterflies, bees, Lady bugs, humming birds, dragon flies are all out,  and our "Pride of Madeira" plants are sprouting/blooming everywhere...

An FYI...
Now that it is officially summer, without a gardener/yardsman it appears like we are all responsible, and in control of our own 24 foot wide by ?? long gravel covered parking space, and the bark chip space behind it, this includes spring clean-up duties, RV exterior  cleaning, grooming, and "landscaping", all dreaded, nasty words indeed.

We have removed all of your excuses by having the tools for doing your own maintenance available ... rakes, shovels, saws, trimmers, electric weed eater, axes, on and on... plus, a sprayer and vinegar for doing ongoing weed control, plus, there are hoses, brushes, demold product, ladders, and other items available for scrubbing down your unit (please replenish whatever liquids you use, for the next person).

Our new full-time PP manager, (Vicki) has announced a planned arrival here for a tour/visit on Wednesday, the 25th of JUNE,... so think, plan, ahead accordingly.

NOTE: some misinformation, and concerns about space rent payments is floating about... but, "nothing" has changed, continue on with your first of the month payments to wherever/however you have been sending them in the past ie; (Stoak QOF Businesses llc.), only the PP "manager" has changed... nothing else !, the park "has not been sold !", so carry on, status quo.

The interim-management contact information is now:
email to: vickomars@gmail.com
Text/voice mail to:  541-212-2111

I am hearing the latest rumblings/ideas/opinions floating around on gating dena lane... with the residence house, the BnB, and ups/fedex all having the gate code. ??

Other news: Space #2 is now occupied with Jacob and the mellow dog Sharima... Space #9 is being moved into this week by Gary and his two dogs, which brings up the unavoidable reminders for dog owners-all.... we will now have 6 dogs in the park, to avoid dog-on-dog violence, and to not terrify people afraid of dogs, the leash law is (of course), mandatory ... the "clean-up your own messes" __"leave no trace"__ rule is common sense... and the barking/yapping separation anxiety pooch, or the left alone, tied out howler needs to be recognized and handled... then, everyone in the park is smiling, life is good, and everyone loves dogs.

The Port Orford Saturday (Summer) Market... now open 0900-1200 on Saturdays at the corner of 9th Street and Highway 101.

Coming up ! ... The Port Orford Jubilee (4th-5th of July), read all about it here:  < https://www.portorfordjubilee.org/ >  and see the events here: < https://www.portorfordjubilee.org/schedule-of-events >
